Ways to fight aging and be young

When we’re getting older, it is very easy to think like that as well. After all, our bodies are showing some signs of ageing, so why not our minds too? But this ‘older’ mindset causes us to age quicker and miss out on many of the things that we can still do with a snappy brain, no matter how much the rest of our body may be. One of the biggest mistakes people make is to start thinking “I am too old for this”.

Once we think this, it becomes reality. We are only as old as we let ourselves think we are. Of course it is true that certain things become less appealing, the activities we do as younger women can still be enjoyed as we’re getting older. Going for a night out with your friends is still just as fun even if we favour a nice, relaxed meal in a restaurant over loud bars and clubbing till 3AM (although this can still be fun once in a while!)

Fun activities that we remember from our youth can still be enjoyed, albeit with a few more considerations than we might have had before. We are still totally able to go bungee jumping or zip lining, despite how many of our friends may see themselves as too old. And when it comes to clothes, there is still a way to dress appropriately, whilst also still giving a nod to our younger side. It is all about maintaining a young mindset, but learning and applying the lessons we have learned through life. There is an old and cliched, but all too true saying; ” you are only as old as you feel”. Nobody is suggesting dressing up like an 18-year old and necking Vodka until the early hours, more that it is very easy to get into the daily routine of working, getting home, cooking dinner, putting the kids to bed and repeating the routine the next day.

Keep hold of our youthful side and we’ll never truly ‘grow old’.
